Mission Landscape Vice President of Operations Jon Cernok didn’t always work in the landscaping industry. Before taking a job at Mission Landscape, he spent 19 years working as a property manager where he oversaw and worked with different landscaping crews. “I’ve had the opportunity to understand what our clients feel because I’ve been in their shoes,” says Jon.
Years earlier, Jon was looking to make a career change, and that’s when he heard about an opportunity at Mission Landscape. “After working with different landscaping companies in the area, I knew Mission had a great reputation,” according to Jon. “It was very important to me to find a company I felt comfortable with and that offered growth opportunities.”
Five years later, Jon is happy he took that risk and credits his success to the company’s structure. Jon believes Mission Landscape’s core values – Safety, Teamwork, Integrity, Quality, and Service – empower his team to make decisions that best serve their clients on a daily basis. “Each and every decision we make is based on those values.”
Jon also enjoys Mission Landscape’s company culture. “While we’re a large company in size, we still have that small company connection.” During team meetings, he looks forward to listening to co-workers share stories about how they were able to incorporate their core values into their work. “From the president down to the crews, we all have a connection with our clients,” says Jon. “It’s a very positive environment where we’re encouraged to learn and grow every day.”
