Over the past few months, coronavirus has caused the world to be flipped upside down. This pandemic has changed the way businesses operate, and formed a new perspective on the way services are handled.

With many industries suffering, we are fortunate enough to continue serving our clients. Our landscaping services are considered essential, therefore our team is continuing business as usual.

The safety of our employees and customers is our first priority. While we have always implemented specific guidelines and safety protocols to ensure confidence in our services, we have taken extra measures to navigate through this challenging time.

Learn what our team is doing to implement a secure work environment:

Cleanliness

As our team goes out into the field to properties, we have developed new cleaning procedures:

  1. – At the end of each day, all of our trucks and equipment are thoroughly cleaned.
  2. – Because disinfectant is hard to find in large quantities, our Equipment Supervisor, Leslie, created bulk disinfectant to be used in all of our trucks and equipment. It is also used in our offices to make sure that each surface touched is properly cleaned.

Safety

The safety of our operations has evolved during this time. Along with our standard guidelines, we have now implemented new safety protocols that will protect the health of each of our employees.

  1. – Our Field Safety and Training Specialist, Hugo, has created hundreds of portable water bins and installed them on each of our trucks, along with hand soap to ensure that our field workers would have access to clean their hands while out on jobs.
  2. – We have installed plexiglass barriers at the entrance of all of our offices to protect our front desk administrative staff.
  3. – Each morning, we hand out masks to our employees to ensure they are properly covered when traveling to client properties and offices.
  4. – We are limiting the number of employees in each truck used.
  5. – We have rearranged our desks and have assigned our managers to new offices so that proper “physical distancing” protocols are met.

Communication

Above all, we believe that strong communication with our team, clients, and community is a vital piece in keeping everyone healthy.

  1. – Mission Landscape owner, David, has ramped up the communication that is sent out to the company. Since the start of the pandemic, letters are sent to every member of the team at the beginning of each week to create an open dialogue by giving a status update on where we stand.
  2. – We do not use the term ‘social distancing’ here at Mission Landscape. The owner of Mission Landscape stated the following, “The phrase ‘social distancing’ doesn’t seem right to me, we need to collaborate in order to work and discuss items. What I believe we are being asked is to help separate our workspace in a physical manner, but not to stop communicating.”
  3. – Letters are sent to our clients to keep them informed and ensure they know that we are on top of CDC guidelines and that keeping our employees and their communities safe is our TOP priority.
  4. – We have been conducting all of our company and client meetings via Zoom.
  5. – If an in-person property walk is needed, 6-foot physical distancing is implemented.
  6. – An exclusive COVID-19 email has been created, where employees can submit their questions anonymously throughout this pandemic. Answers are then sent back to the sender immediately. An FAQ document containing the most common questions was created with Q&As and then sent out to each employee.

As we continue to navigate through these new challenges, Mission Landscape is doing everything possible to keep everyone safe and healthy. We will continue to do our part in helping create a comfortable environment for both our employees and clients.

If you have any questions regarding our processes during this time, please feel free to reach out to us and we would be happy to address any concerns.
