Twenty-year finance professional, Sara Robertson was looking to make a career change two years ago, it was important for her to find a place that provided opportunities to interact with others and grow. “I was looking to make a shift in my career, but it was scary to take that chance,” says Sara.

Excited and eager to try something new, Sara heard Mission Landscape was a great place to work.”I always worked for small businesses, and I was looking for a place that had that family feel. After my interview, I realized a lot of people had worked there for 10 or 20 plus years, which showed it was a great place to work.”

The mother of three also learned about something else that’s been an integral part of Mission Landscape’s success – their core values. After just two years with the company, Sara has already been promoted to Business Development Manager. “Just to be acknowledged and supported in that way is amazing. In a short time, they saw my strengths, and that has been very rewarding.” 

While being promoted has been one of the highlights of her new job, Sara said her favorite part is spending time with her co-workers. “The people I work with are amazing, and we build each other up. It’s so supportive.”

Although making a career change was scary, Sara said she’s glad she took that leap of faith. “My kids are proud of me and have been so supportive. For them to see me make a change for the better and set a good example, makes me feel great.”
