Mission Landscape Culture: Meet Our Landscape Development Sr. Project Manager, Steve

We believe that in order to have a successful team, each employee must feel valued. This appreciation for their hard work stems from opportunities for internal growth and our cooperative approach to each project.

During this time, we are considered an essential business. Our team is taking extra precautions and following all CDC guidelines and recommendations to keep ourselves and our clients safe. If your business is in need of commercial landscaping, maintenance, or any other service we offer, reach out to us

Our office team works diligently to make sure each project is in order and completed successfully.

Steve gave us insight on his personal experience working with their team at Mission Landscape:

What initially interested you in working at Mission Landscape?

Opportunity to project manage in Orange County. At a previous employer, I was working as an enhancements coordinator for their Orange County maintenance division, this was after new home building dried up. Prior to enhancements, I was Project Managing new home projects and model homes in the Inland Empire and Palm Springs.

It is important to us that each team member is treated with respect. Our employees value each other and in turn, create great work.

Why did you stay?

I respect David as an Owner – and the entire Executive team. I feel that the company has always treated me fairly and given me the opportunity to be successful in my position – I’m not micromanaged in my role, which is a huge deal for me. Also, I think our values and the office culture align to create an enjoyable work environment.

Along with hard work, we want our employees to feel appreciated. By working together as a team, we motivate one another to be the best version of ourselves.

Explain the company culture in the office.

Management is approachable and friendly. I think Mission Landscape does a good job of emphasizing teamwork as one of our core values in the office. Employees are treated well and personally, I feel appreciated as an employee. Management does a fine job of recognizing employees and doing small things (daily coffee/pastry, quarterly lunches, etc.) that show a level of appreciation. Also, my experience is that my coworkers are all very friendly – our office is definitely not a toxic environment.

With integrity and quality, we have cultivated a team that is proud of their work.

What core value resonates with you the most?

‘Integrity’ because it always plays a role in my decision-making process and ‘Quality’ because our division’s reputation is based on the quality of our work and finished product.

We implement a collaborative approach to each project in order to highlight each team member’s strengths.

Explain how your team collaborates with each other to get projects done.

In Development (Construction), the collaboration between office and field personnel is essential to the completion of a successful construction project. We’re constantly collaborating on everything from plan and scope changes to the execution of proposed tasks (bid items).

At Mission Landscape, we are the experts in commercial landscape maintenance, tree care, water management, mulch and green waste recycling, landscape architecture, and landscape construction. We serve a multitude of areas in California including: Orange County, Los Angeles County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, Sacramento County, and Imperial County.
